Lebanon, one of the oldest wine making regions in the world. The secret is in the quality of the grapes the region is able to offer. The wines vineyards are planted at 850 meters in a protected microclimate.
Lebanon is situated on the 32 altitudes where there are 9 months of sun and 3 months of rain and snow a year.
The microclimate is due to the following factors: Mount Lebanon protects the vineyards from the humid Mediterranean climate and the Mount anti-Lebanon protects it from the desert like climate of the east. The terrain is of rock and clay, with the rocks delaying evaporation and the clay helping to retain moisture to the vines, therefore enabling the roots to grow quite long. In the 3 months of winter the snow covers the mountain tops and the amount of rain is around 750mm, then follows 3 seasons of sun and very little rain, allowing the height of the vineyards to offer a breath of freshness and quality to the grape, which is remarkable with lots of taste and scent.
